By Georgia Schwender, Fermilab
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory advances the understanding of the fundamental nature of matter and energy by providing leadership and resources for qualified researchers to conduct basic research at the frontiers of high energy physics and related disciplines.
This convergence of art and science occurs daily in the Fermilab Art Gallery. It is a space for art exhibitions, chamber music concerts and where the top quark and big bang are debated over coffee. It is also a quiet space for contemplation and beauty.
About the Employee Art Show:
It’s Fermilab’s 50th anniversary and what a great way to celebrate our employees but to host the 50 years of Science & Art Employee Art Show! The creative mind has been an essential part of Fermilab since its inception. One only needs to look around to see art and science in an innovative state, from the Tevatron to the chalk boards on the third floor to Hyperbolic Obelisk in front of Wilson Hall. The arts not only make for a more stimulating and creative work environment, but they have a direct and positive impact on the employees. "50 Years of Science & Art - Employee Art Show" recognizes the diverse creativity and innovation of the employees at Fermilab.
This exhibition is open through May 22, 2017.
